This art piece is inspired by the first words of the Old Testament book of Genesis “In the Beginning” or in Hebrew “B’rayshis” (בראשית).

The dual-colored background is a reflection of the dramatic moment when G-d separated light from the darkness, birthing our universe and the cosmos. “And G-d said, let there be light, and there was light...And G-d divided the light from the darkness.”

The center motif is filled with the raw brown clay that was eventually molded and formed by our Creator to produce the first human, Adam.

The heart of this piece is the planet Earth, our Earth, with the small hand of a child rising above it. Within the innocent palm is a simple daisy symbolizing our human existence in its purest state.
